Taylor Kimbrell Receives DAISY Award at East Georgia Regional Medical Center

STATESBORO, GA –Taylor Kimbrell, R.N., was honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
A nurse within the Telemetry unit and at EGRMC for over two years, Taylor received multiple nominations from patients for the award.
One patient stated, “Taylor is so caring and professional. She goes above and beyond the call of duty. Taylor takes extra precautions to ensure accuracy and accountability. She is a true jewel.”
Another patient added their gratitude for Taylor’s, “hard work and dedication. Taylor takes care of your every want and needs. She is sweet and well mannered. It is a pleasure to be in Taylor’s presence. It is an honor to have Taylor as my nurse.”
"Taylor exemplifies the true spirit of kindness and compassion in nursing. She embodies the qualities we all hope to experience in our caregivers," said Marie Burdett, MSN, RN, chief nursing officer at East Georgia Regional Hospital. "Her dedication and empathy make her truly deserving of this recognition, and we are honored to have her as a valued member of our team.”
Nurses may be nominated for the DAISY Award by patients, family members, and colleagues. The award recipient is chosen by a committee at EGRMC.

The DAISY Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes. Patrick died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, an auto-immune disease. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The care Patrick and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patient families.
