2/19/2019
[Statesboro] – East Georgia Regional Medical Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Jeffrey Millard to their hospitalist team. Dr. Millard and his wife moved to Georgia late last year from Kentucky, where he served as Stroke Director at a hospital in Elizabethtown.
Dr. Millard has an extensive medical background, practicing medicine for over 37 years. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, and went on to complete his Family Practice Residency at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Millard is board-certified in Family Medicine and holds his Certificate of Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
"We are excited to welcome Dr. Millard to EGRMC,” said Paul Theriot, CEO. “He is an experienced physician and we are fortunate to have him caring for our patients.”
The term “hospitalist” refers to physicians, typically trained in internal medicine or family practice, whose practice emphasizes providing care for hospitalized patients. By focusing their practice on the care of a hospitalized patient, a hospitalist can gain a great deal of experience in the unique aspects of a patient’s needs during their hospital stay. Dr. Millard and our team of hospitalists at East Georgia Regional Medical Center provide quality, compassionate patient care, and are readily available to our patients.
“I look forward to being a part of such a dynamic, experienced medical team at East Georgia Regional,” said Dr. Millard. “The staff here, as well as the community members that I’ve met so far, have been most welcoming and I am excited to be a member of this hospitalist team.”
Dr. Millard and his wife live in Savannah and have two grown children. In his “free” time, he enjoys fishing, scuba diving, and traveling.
