Pre-Certification
Most insurance plans require pre-certification for non-emergency visits to the hospital. It is the patient's responsibility to get pre-certification from the insurance provider.
MED-KEY
Because there are a number of questions to be answered and information to be obtained before you are admitted, we suggest that you have a MED-KEY card. This quick admission card gives our staff the information needed to admit you quickly, for any type of service. Individuals with a MED-KEY card are eligible for the Healthy Discounts program at several businesses in the community. Our MED-KEY does not replace your insurance cards, so please bring your insurance cards with you. MED-KEY applications are available at the Admissions Department or by calling 912.486.1500.

You will need only a few personal items such as a bathrobe, slippers, sleepwear, and toiletries. The hospital will provide a gown and other items you need. Bring currently prescribed home medications, as well as, supplements, i.e. herbals and other over-the-counter medications. Once reviewed by a pharmacists, medications will be returned or stored in the Pharmacy until discharge.

We recommend that you do not bring valuables with you. We cannot be responsible for them, so we ask that you leave them at home or have a family member take them when they leave to go home. We are also not responsible for dentures, eye glasses, hearing aids or other personal items of this nature.
